Far North Rangatahi at the National Brainbee Neuroscience Competition
A huge congratulations to our fifteen Year 11 tauira from Kaitaia and Kaikohe who represented the Far North in the final round of The New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge in July.
The Brain Bee Challenge is a neuroscience competition for high school students run by the Centre of Brain Research at the University of Auckland. Through The Moko Foundation, university students Conor O'Sullivan, Chris Sadler and Kapowairua Stephens provided tutorials and teaching wananga to guide the students through the competition. However, the real hard yards were put in by our Year 11 cohort.
A special mention to Pene Te Hau Kingi-Waiaua who placed in the Top 20% of 80,000 participants in the Education Perfect Science World Championships.
Ka rawe koutou! You all make the Far North proud!
